At Oncharge, we’re redefining how the world connects with clean energy — creating smarter, simpler charging experiences for everyone.
OnChargeEV was built from real-world experience — not theory.
For over 30 years, our team has worked in the commercial lighting industry, serving a large and diverse portfolio of properties across multifamily, retail, industrial, and institutional sectors. We were deeply involved in the transition from legacy lighting to LED conversions, managing everything from design and installation to utility rebate programs that helped property owners reduce upfront costs and long-term energy expenses.
As EV adoption accelerated, utility companies began offering rebates for EV charging infrastructure, much like they had for LED lighting. Naturally, our clients turned to us again — and we expanded into EV charger installation and deployment.
That’s when we encountered a problem.
Most EV charging platforms relied on monthly or annual software fees, regardless of whether chargers were actively being used. While those fees might seem manageable during the rebate period — typically 3 to 5 years — they often become a burden afterward. In many cases, once rebates end, ongoing software costs make long-term operation unsustainable. Chargers go offline. Infrastructure sits unused. And the original investment is effectively wasted.
We knew there had to be a better way.
With an extremely talented in-house team, we set out to build a platform designed for long-term sustainability, not short-term contracts. The result is OnChargeEV — a charging management platform built around a simple, honest principle:
You only pay when your chargers are used.
There are:
Our platform operates on a pay-as-you-go model, where fees are only applied when a charging session actually occurs. If no one is charging, there is no cost. This ensures that EV charging remains viable long after rebate programs end and eliminates the risk of chargers becoming stranded assets.
Beyond our own deployments, we made a deliberate decision to open the platform to other small and mid-sized EV charging businesses. Many of these companies are struggling with rising software costs and shrinking margins. OnChargeEV gives them a financially sustainable alternative, allowing them to grow without being locked into fee structures that don’t scale over time.
Our mission is simple:
OnChargeEV isn’t just another charging platform — it’s the result of decades of field experience, shaped by real constraints, and designed for the future.
To make EV charging effortless, accessible, and intelligent — empowering individuals and businesses to embrace sustainable energy with confidence.
